Fabulous Felt Frolics

Wendy Bailye has been running Felt making workshops at Heart and Soul Gifts and Gallery for over 5 years. Many people have come along to relax and learn a craft that is simple, inexpensive and highly creative. Felt making is an ancient craft that is gaining popularity in our busy mass produced world.

Wendy works and teaches from her home-based Felt Making Studio at Yugar, just 3 mins drive from Heart and Soul. Much thought has gone into the room's creation and it is a space that is very inspiring to work in. There is an emphasis on curved ceiling vaults and arches and lovely recycled hardwood has been used for shelving and benches. The room overlooks the vegetable garden and orchard (resplendent at the moment with very healthy weeds!) and you can hear the chickens clucking as you work. The chickens have a lovely pen with mosaics and a stained glass door!  

Many people don't take creative time out for themselves; felt making is the perfect activity to remedy this. Speak to anyone who has done a class and they will tell you how much fun it is. It is a "non threatening" craft. You don't have to be able to draw or sew and it always yields a lovely result.

There is usually a morning and evening class held each month as well as special felting fun days for those who have done a class.  Classes can be held at other times if you get a group of friends together. Felting supplies can be purchased from Heart and Soul.

The class sizes are small and the class schedule is flexible to allow for special requests.
